Watts Bar Utility District of Rhea, Meigs and Roane Counties ("WBUD") uses SMS text messaging to deliver operational notifications and alarm messages to authorized personnel.
Messages may be generated by utility monitoring and control systems, including VTScada SCADA software.
## Intended Recipients
SMS notifications are intended solely for authorized employees, operators, contractors, and designated response personnel who have been enrolled by WBUD administration.
## Message Types
Messages may include:
* Tank level alarms
* Pump failures
* Communication failures
* Power failures
* Equipment faults
* System status notifications
* Operational alerts requiring response
## Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on system conditions.
During significant operational events, multiple alarm notifications may be generated and may repeat until acknowledged by authorized personnel.
Messages may be delivered at any time, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
## Costs
Message and data rates may apply according to the recipient's mobile carrier plan.
## Opt-Out Instructions
Recipients may opt out of SMS communications by replying:
STOP
After opting out, no further SMS messages will be sent unless the recipient is re-enrolled by authorized WBUD administration.
