Payment Polices and Procedures:

Online
  • Should the due date for payment of a bill fall on a weekend or holiday (WBUD is closed), the bill’s net amount will be given the due date only by or on 11:59:59 p.m. est., after 11:59:59 p.m. est. the gross amount will be due.
  • Recurring Payments must be setup before the “New Bill” has been uploaded to the WBUD Online Payment site. If the recurring payment is setup after the “New Bill” has been uploaded, it will start after the next month's "New Bill" has been uploaded.
  • Recurring Payments - Must be setup before the last day business day of the month to be scheduled for the Bill that will become available the following month: Example 1 - Setup the recurring payment on or before May 30 for it to be effective for any bill after June 1. Example 2 - Setup the recurring payment on or after May 1 through May 31, it will become effective for any bill after June 1.
  • All payments made will be applied to your water and/or wastewater bill. Payments will not go towards the following, but not limited to: Tap Fee Accounts, Service Charges, or other fees or charges. To make those payments you must contact the main office during regular business hours.
  • This is for water/wastewater bill payment only. If your water has been disconnected for any reason, you must contact the main office during regular business hours to have your service restored.
  • To ensure that you receive proper credit, you should contact WBUD next business day after paying online.
  • If unsure about the payment and how to make it, please call the main office during regular business hours.
  • Due date does not apply to past due balance on water bill.
  • Only $2,500 max payment can be paid online.
  • Due date only

IVR
  • Should the due date for payment of a bill fall on a weekend or holiday (WBUD is closed), the bill’s net amount will be given the due date only by or on 11:59:59 p.m. est., after 11:59:59 p.m. est. the gross amount will be due.

Phone (WBUD Main Office)
  • During office hours only when WBUD’s main office is open.
  • Should the due date for payment fall on a weekend or a holiday (WBUD is closed), the bill’s net amount will be due the business day before the due date.

  • Only $2,500 max payment can be paid over the phone to the main office.
  • Due date only

Banks
  • During bank hours only.
  • First (1st) through the twentieth (20th) of each month
  • Due date does not apply to past due balance on water bill.

Walk-in
  • During office hours only when WBUD’s main office is open.
  • Should the due date for payment fall on a weekend or a holiday (WBUD is closed), the bill’s net amount will be due the business day before the due date.

Drop Box at WBUD’s Main Office
  • 6:00 am cutoff time to receive that day credit when WBUD’s main office is open.
  • Should the due date for payment of a bill fall on a week-end or a holiday (WBUD is closed), the bill’s net amount will be accepted on the following business day.
  • Due date does not apply to past due balance on water bill.
  • Due date only

United States Postal Service - Lockbox
  • Should the due date for payment of a bill fall on a week-end or a holiday (WBUD is closed), the bill’s net amount will be accepted on the following business day.
  • You have to return a current stub from water bill to ensure proper credit.
  • Due date does not apply to past due balance on water bill.

United States Postal Service - P. O. Box 910
  • Should the due date for payment of a bill fall on a week-end or a holiday (WBUD is closed), the bill’s net amount will be accepted on the following business day.
  • Name on Account and/or Account Number included to ensure proper credit.
  • Due date does not apply to past due balance on water bill.

Automatic Bank Draft
  • Accept Bank Drafts from any participating banks.
  • Must complete and sign preauthorization form and attach a voided check of the bank that the draft will be drawn.
  • Draft will be presented to the bank for payment on the 15th of each month.
  • If funds are not available at the time draft is presented and the draft is returned unpaid, an additional fee will be added to your account, that fee will be the maximum limit the State allows.
  • Account will be subject to forfeiture of the discount and/or the adding of any penalties due and subject to WBUD’s Discontinuance of Service (Cut-offs) policy.
  • If draft is returned unpaid more than (2) two times in a (1) one year period will be removed from the Automatic Payment Method.
  • To change back to the regular payment options listed above, you may do so at any time by writing WBUD and requesting to be removed from the Automatic Payment Method. Upon receipt of this request, you will be removed at the next available billing cycle.

No set of policies or procedures can contemplate every possible scenario that may arise. Therefore, WBUD will use best management practices when these situations arise.



PRIVACY STATEMENT
Watts Bar Utility District (WBUD) will not disclose any information provided by you on our website, except
our financial services provider, (bank) if needed. WBUD will collect only your credit card information and
billing information needed in order for you to pay your utility bill to Watts Bar Utility District, which is
required to perform online payment transactions.

DISPUTES / REFUNDS
If you are disputing any water bill received by Watts Bar Utility District (WBUD), please notify WBUD in
order to investigate the matter and put your account on hold. WBUD will not charge your account until
the dispute is resolved. If an excess charge is made due to a water leak or dispute, WBUD will refund
the excess amount charged if approved by WBUD Board of Directors.
